The Schladming-Dachstein region with the Dachstein south faces in Ramsau am Dachstein is a high alpine paradise for climbers and mountaineers. 18 different fixed-rope routes and tours are located on the southern side of the highest mountain in Styria and can be tackled with an approach from Ramsau.
"Franzi" fixed-rope route in the Schladminger Tauern
The newly built fixed-rope route is a richly varied connection through the vertical Gasselwand between the existing hiking trails of the "Reiteralm-Rundwanderweg" (Reiteralm hiking circuit) and in terms of level of difficulty is classified as C "difficult" to D "very difficult". "Franzi" can be reached after a hike of about thirty minutes from the "Preunegg Jet" mountain station in the direction of the Spiegelsee and rewards visitors with a breathtaking view of the the surrounding mountains. One returns to the car park and cable car via the Reiteralm hiking circuit. For all those who do not yet have the necessary climbing experience or who would like to learn to climb, we offer a guided climbing tour once a week.
