The name "Schwoaga" was first documented some 800 years ago. In the late 1920´s, at the age of 20, Gottlieb Stocker, born in 1906 - Aussacher son, came as successor to his uncle´s farm. A short while later his uncle died and he then followed in his footsteps and inherited the Schwoaga property.

In the winter season 1958/59 a small ski lift was erected in front of the house. In 1960 the old farmhouse was knocked down and building work continued.
Thanks to the combined efforts of all children the new building was aslo finished in the same year.

And when the World Ski Championship was held in Schladming in 1982, we took the opportunity to further expand and modernise. That included updating the indoor swimming pool and adding a sauna with a solarium – which was something really rather pioneering at the time!

The highlight in the 90s was the construction of our bathing biotope; a recreational oasis with a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains.

At the turn of the century, we rang in our hotel’s new wellness and fitness era – with the construction of spa facilities that include an indoor pool, a heated outdoor pool, saunas, relaxation rooms and a beauty treatment area.

Not too long ago we finally opened our gymnasium, a new workout room and our very own indoor rock climbing wall. We are constantly updating our facilities – most recently with locally sourced Swiss pine wood. We look forward to welcoming you and hope you will

While our world came to a standstill for a short time, there was still plenty of movement at the hotel, including extensions for two saunas in the wellness zone, expansion of the garden and the creation of a quiet living room space. The makeovers continued in 2021, particularly in the dining room and reception. And now we have a new show kitchen for everyone who wants to see what goes on behind the scenes in a pro kitchen.
